Consistently change what you know. The digital marketing world is constantly evolving and so should your websites, emails, social and search campaigns. Update your campaigns regularly, and stay on top of whether or not they’re still successful.
Measure all your efforts. All means of marketing are trackable now — even print — through the use of QR (quick response) codes and custom URLs. Make smart decisions based on numbers, not hunches or because something worked in the past.
Keep your efforts objective-driven. This is a tough one because most product marketers want to overload the user with anything that they possibly could be interested in receiving. If you keep the objective narrow, you’re more likely to convert. If you know your audience, you know what they are interested in and can send them pertinent information. Nurture the users’ experience one objective at a time. If you do more, you’ll overload or annoy them.
Send your audience relevant content. Once you know about the user, send them information that is relevant — deadline reminders, coupon codes, product updates, etc. Be a thought leader in your business, when it comes to blog articles, industry-driven notifications, hot topics and search words.
Know your audience.
